When should I seek speech therapy for my child?

Consider an assessment when you have concerns about your child’s speech, understanding, language, ability to express needs or communication with others.

Can adults receive speech therapy?

Yes. Adults can benefit from speech and language therapy for communication difficulties associated with stroke, neurological conditions, injury and other causes.

Can speech therapy help after a stroke?

Speech-language therapy can support communication and cognitive-communication rehabilitation after stroke. Goals are individualized according to the person’s assessment and everyday needs.

Can you help with feeding and swallowing difficulties?

Yes. We provide assessment and intervention for relevant feeding, chewing and swallowing concerns. Some swallowing concerns may also require multidisciplinary medical assessment.

How long does therapy take?

The duration varies depending on the person’s needs, goals, response to intervention and recommendations following assessment.
